Our History

The Chorale was founded in January 1995 by Dr. Susan McMane, our first Artistic Director, with the help of Susan White and Mary Ann and Dick Shaw. Our subsequent Artistic Directors have been Greg LeSan, Scott Schoonover, Kathy Lawton Brown (interim), Merry Keller (interim), Marcia Hansen (interim), and now Leanne Magnuson Latuda. The Women’s HOPE Chorale became the ensemble-in-residence at Maryville University in 2010 and now enjoys a wonderful collaboration with Maryville students and faculty.

"The Dream Keepers: A Couple"
A Love Story told through Jazz

But not just any love story….the true love story of two of our founders. We performed the world premiere of a piece we commissioned by composer and performer, Adam Maness, for women’s chorus and jazz trio to celebrate our dream keepers: Richard and Mary Ann Shaw.
