Singer Says

Kara Klette

Hello! My name is Kara Klette, and I am the Chorale president. I joined the Chorale in 2018, and have loved it ever since. The first concert I performed in was a St. Patrick’s Day celebration, and what a way to kick off my Women’s Hope Chorale Journey! I absolutely loved that concert, and had so much fun. I immediately felt like I belonged, and the rest is history.

I’m a nurse at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, a wife to my loving husband, Kristofer, and new mommy to my baby boy, Kieran. I can’t wait until my son can come to one of our performances and experience what we all create together. Music has a way of inspiring even the youngest of us.

Music has always had an important place in my life. It has helped me to express myself, work through emotions, become more confident, and make wonderful friends. Singing in the Chorale is so important to me for all of these reasons, and I’m so excited to sing with all of you once more.

We all need a place to truly be our best selves, and know we’re not alone. The power of music doesn’t discriminate, and no matter where we come from, it truly brings us together. In The Women’s Hope Chorale, it’s encouraged for all of us to bring all of ourselves into our music, and not leave our emotions at the door. It’s encouraged for us to bring all that we are and all that we can be, and that’s what sets us apart. That’s what keeps me coming back, and makes me so excited to be a part of it.

"The Dream Keepers: A Couple"
A Love Story told through Jazz

But not just any love story….the true love story of two of our founders. We performed the world premiere of a piece we commissioned by composer and performer, Adam Maness, for women’s chorus and jazz trio to celebrate our dream keepers: Richard and Mary Ann Shaw.
